The Alan Weaver Papers document Weaver's work with the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches, the United Church of Christ, and the Catholic Worker Movement.

Hist/Bio Note

This collection contains materials relating to the activities of Alan Weaver, co-founder of the Gay and Lesbian Sierrans (GLS), the first LGBT Sierra Club section in the United States. GLS documents include organizational records, correspondence and e-mails, election materials, meeting minutes, membership materials, materials about outings and programs, records from other chapters and scrapbooks of newsclippings. The collection also documents Weaver's other interests, which include religion and spirituality, politics and athletics. Organizations represented in the collection include the California Men's Gathering, the United Church of Christ, the San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Voters Project, Pride at Work, the Harvard Gay and Lesbian Caucus and the San Francisco FrontRunners. The collection also contains t-shirts and artifacts.
